Tomer Sharon Paramus NJ Obituary: Tomer Sharon, Renowned UX Researcher and Author, Passes Away
The global design and research community is mourning the loss of Tomer Sharon, a leading voice in user experience, design thinking, and research methodology. Sharon, the acclaimed author of Validating Product Ideas, passed away, leaving behind a lasting impact on the field of UX research and innovation.
A visionary in the industry, Sharon co-founded anywell, where he served as Chief Experience Officer, working to redefine hybrid work environments. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at major organizations, including as Managing Director and Head of User Research & Metrics at Goldman Sachs, Head of User Experience at WeWork, and Senior User Experience Researcher at Google Search. His contributions helped shape best practices in UX research, making user-centric design an essential part of product development.
Sharon authored three influential books: Measuring User Happiness (2020), Validating Product Ideas (2016), and It’s Our Research (2012). Through his writings, mentorship, and extensive speaking engagements across 13 countries and even at the United Nations, he educated and inspired countless professionals in the field.
Sharon earned his master’s degree in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, and remained a strong advocate for data-driven decision-making in product design.
Funeral Arrangements
A funeral service for Tomer Sharon will be held on Thursday, March 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Park Cemetery, located at 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, NJ.
The Shiv’a will take place at 15 Holly Lane, Cresskill, NJ, from Thursday to Wednesday, with visiting hours from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
His passing is a tremendous loss to the UX and design communities, as well as to his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy will continue to inspire those dedicated to creating meaningful and user-centered experiences.
