Isaiah Sautier Wakefield MA identified as victim in double shooting on Lakeshore Drive, near Cumberland Farms

Wakefield Shooting Victim Identified as Isaiah Sautier, Originally from Somerville

Authorities have identified Isaiah Sautier, a Wakefield, Massachusetts, resident originally from Somerville, as one of the victims in a double shooting that occurred Tuesday night on Lakeshore Drive, near Cumberland Farms.

The Wakefield Police Department reported that the shooting took place shortly before 8 p.m., leaving two men with serious injuries. Investigators believe the incident was targeted and isolated, and the search for suspects is ongoing.

Ongoing Investigation and Court Connection

In the early hours of Wednesday, a Wakefield police cruiser was seen dropping a person off at a Lakeshore Drive residence. Public records indicate that Isaiah Sautier is linked to the home. Additionally, court documents reveal that a jury trial had begun Monday for a man with the same name, who was previously arrested in Malden in 2021 on a charge of accessory to murder after the fact.

Sautier was scheduled to testify in the trial on Wednesday. However, in court that day, Middlesex Superior Court Judge Diane Freniere confirmed that he was in a medical facility and in critical condition.

“Based on the information I’ve been given, it seems to me that defendant Sautier is not going to be here for trial,” Judge Freniere stated. “And I don’t think his medical condition is going to permit that.”

Meanwhile, the other defendant in the 2021 case, Antonio Rufo-Sanon, was present in court and is facing a murder charge.

Neighborhood Reactions and Police Appeal for Information

As detectives continued their investigation, neighbors expressed concern about the violent incident.

“It was three shots. And I said, ‘Jeez, sounds like gunshots,'” recalled resident Madeline Donnelly. “I really don’t know, I don’t know anything about them.”

At this time, no arrests have been made. Authorities urge anyone with information or who witnessed anything suspicious to contact 911 or the Wakefield Police Department at 781-245-1212.
