INDIANAPOLIS, IN: The Butler University community is mourning the devastating loss of Sam Fingard, a student who tragically died by suicide on campus. Authorities have confirmed that Fingard, a native of Chicago, IL, passed away after jumping from the university’s parking garage on the 4700 block of Sunset Avenue, between 46th and 49th Streets, on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of the incident. Despite their best efforts, Fingard was pronounced dead at the scene. A heavy police presence remained in the area as officials investigated the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
